About Filament Oracle

Filament Oracle is an independent, cross-brand database of 3D printer filaments — built by people who got tired of clicking through five manufacturer websites to compare specs that should live on one page.

What we do

• Maintain spec sheets for the most popular filaments across major brands.
• Source numbers from manufacturer datasheets; double-check ranges against community testing.
• Keep an outdoor-rating, food-safety, and use-case overlay you can search across brands.

What we don't do

• Take payment from manufacturers for inclusion or position.
• Hide affiliate links inside review prose. Where we use them, we label them.
• Pretend our 5/5 outdoor rating is a lab certification — it's an editorial composite.

Methodology

Specs come from each brand's official technical data sheet at the time of writing. Outdoor rating combines UV resistance, glass transition temperature, and water-absorption behavior into a 1–5 editorial score. Food-safe means the manufacturer explicitly markets the filament as food-contact-safe in its raw form (printed parts still depend on your printer cleanliness and post-processing).
